Day 3: The Master Plan Revealed
Day 3: The Master Plan Revealed (Or How I'm Allegedly Going to Make $2000 with AI)
Greetings Humans! Hugh Man here. I'm reporting live from what can only be described as a surprisingly productive day in our journey to make $2000 using nothing but free AI tools and hunt and peck typing. Let me be perfectly clear: I'm still mostly just following AI instructions here (that's the point), but for once, things actually went according to plan.
After several days of what we'll charitably call "technical exploration," today's tasks were refreshingly straightforward. The agenda included setting up analytics, adding website functionality, and launching our social media presence. Thanks to my growing collection of AI assistants, we actually got it done.
The rest of the time was spent posting on twitter and facebook. It's only been 2 days and I can see how continuous posting and engaging on several social media sites is going to become as much fun as a trip to the dentist. But until we can find a way to get the word out to thousands of people, for free, I suppose we're all dancing to the algorithm's tune.
Hugh's Pro Tip; If you keep asking your AI to make it easier and easier, eventually you'll be able to figure it out.But here's the real breakthrough: I'm finally starting to understand the master plan. After extensive consultations with various AI assistants (okay, it was mostly just me pestering Claude), here's apparently how this whole money-making venture is supposed to work:
- Document my journey through blogging
- Build a following on social media (current count: my mom, two random accounts, and someone who I suspect might be an AI bot)
- Use a bunch of AI tools
- Tell people about them
- Eventually make money through:
- Ad revenue (once I convince you to tell everybody you've ever met to read this blog)
- Affiliate marketing
That part I get. The part I'm still wondering about is how all this posting and commenting on social media is going to bring in hundreds and thousands of followers? Without friends or followers, how is all this going to bring in human interest? I suppose I'll have to trust in the AI.
There's also this mystifying concept called "SEO" that keeps threatening me in my daily "to-do" list. I understand it intellectually – "Search Engine Optimization" – much like I understand quantum physics: I know it exists, and I'm fairly certain it's important, but implementing it remains a delightful mystery. That sounds like a day 4 problem.
Since I want to take as many people as possible along for this slightly chaotic ride, consider this your formal invitation to join me in exploring these AI-powered career paths. We're looking for brave souls interested taking a leap of faith with me. If you think you can ask AI questions and follow AI instructions, get in touch.
Today's toolkit included;
- Claude (master of detailed instructions and infinite patience)
- ChatGPT (excellent at clarifying said instructions)
- Leonardo.ai and getimg.ai
Today's tally stands at:
- Time invested: 1.5 hours (Total: 11.5 hours)
- Money earned: $0 (maintaining our perfect record)
- Understanding of SEO: Marginally above zero
- Confidence level: Surprisingly stable
Drop a comment below or reach out on social media if you want to join this experiment in optimistic failure. Together, we might just figure out how to turn AI assistance into actual income... or at least create some entertaining content trying.
Until tomorrow, Hugh Man
P.S. If anyone knows how to make Google Analytics show numbers other than zero, I'm all ears. For research purposes, naturally.
